Pet Fees
Pet fees vary by brand and length of stay. Many Hyatt hotels charge around $75 per stay (up to 5–6 nights), and about $100–$150 for longer stays. For example, Hyatt Place and Hyatt House typically charge $75 (1–6 nights), and $75 + $100 cleaning fee for 7+ nights . Some upscale Hyatt brands (Andaz, Park Hyatt, etc.) may charge $100–$150 per stay for pets . Fees are generally non-refundable.
Weight Limits
A common Hyatt policy is a 50 lb per pet limit (and if two pets, combined weight not to exceed 75 lbs) . This guideline (50 lbs each, 75 lbs total for two) is seen at many Hyatt Place/House and Andaz locations . However, weight limits can vary – some individual Hyatt hotels set higher or lower limits (e.g. one allows up to 60 lbs, another might only allow small dogs).
Breed Restrictions
No chain-wide breed restrictions. Hyatt’s pet-friendly hotels generally accept all breeds of dogs (within weight limits). There isn’t an official breed ban, but hotels can refuse animals that pose a safety risk. (Hyatt’s pet policies focus on size/number rather than breed.)
Max Pets per Room
Typically 2 pets per room. Most Hyatt pet-friendly properties allow up to two dogs (exceptions may apply at certain hotels). If two, the combined weight limit usually applies.
Types of Pets Permitted
Dogs are the primary pets allowed at Hyatt hotels. Many Hyatt brands’ pet policies explicitly mention dogs. Some Hyatt hotels also permit cats, but this is on a property-by-property basis (guests should confirm in advance, as not all Hyatt pet-friendly hotels are equipped for cats). Other pet types are generally not allowed unless it’s a service animal.
Required Documentation
No universal documentation requirement. Guests must usually sign a pet agreement at check-in. Vaccination records are not routinely requested by Hyatt, but the pet agreement may stipulate that pets should be up to date on shots. It’s advisable to have proof of rabies vaccination in case asked.
Pet Friendly Amenities
Hyatt hotels often provide helpful amenities for pets. Many will offer dog beds, food & water bowls, and treats upon request or at check-in . Some properties go above and beyond – e.g. certain resorts have dog-friendly outdoor dining areas or even special pet room-service menus (one example is Alila Ventana Big Sur, which offers a dog menu and allows dogs on the patio) . Hyatt Place/House locations usually have convenient outdoor areas for pet relief, and luxury brands may provide plush bedding and bowls in-room for your pet.
Other Restrictions
Leash policy: Pets must be leashed or in a carrier in public areas of the hotel. Unattended: Many Hyatt hotels request that you do not leave pets unattended in rooms. If you must, typically the pet should be crated and you should leave contact information with the front desk. No pets in certain areas: Pets (except service animals) are not allowed in restaurants, health clubs, pool areas, etc. Housekeeping will only service the room if the pet is crated or you are present.
Additional Notes
Hyatt has 14 out of its 19 brands with pet-friendly hotels , but policies vary greatly by hotel. Always check the specific hotel’s pet policy when booking – especially outside the U.S., some Hyatt hotels do not allow pets at all. Note that service dogs are allowed at all Hyatts with no fee. Hyatt’s loyalty program (World of Hyatt) sometimes offers promotions or amenities for pet travelers, and some hotels limit pet-friendly rooms to certain floors.
